Governance

SCA is a duly registered Mozambican non-profit association formally named “Associaçao Cruz Sul”.

The association consists of parents whose children are enrolled in the school. At the Annual General Meeting held at the start of the school year, a selected group of parents is elected to form the Board, the school’s governing council.

While the teachers manage the school on a day to day basis, the Board is responsible for long-term planning, finances, human resources, public relations and other support.

Parents communicate directly with their children’s teachers (and vice versa) on all matters relating to their child’s education and well-being. Parents’ ideas for the school are channelled through the board.
