YOU CAN MAKE EDUCATION POSSIBLE FOR A LOCAL CHILD THROUGH SPONSORSHIP
In order to extend the amazing SCA education to low-income local families, we have set up a financial aid program for candidates with a strong academic record, capacity to learn in English and a desire to challenge themselves at SCA.
SCA schooling costs around USD 200 per child per month – much more than the minimum wage in Mozambique.
An SCA education for a local child is a life changing opportunity. By supporting a child with school fees, you may inspire a child towards a career in conservation, unleash the problem-solving abilities of a future change agent, or simply put a local child on a new track to prosperity by equipping them with English proficiency and an international education.
To be the sole sponsor of a child, you must commit to supporting their fees from their first year of entry throughout their school career at SCA. Some scholarship pupils will be transferring in at higher grades or year groups (not starting in the Early Years Foundation Stage). By letting us know the maximum amount you are able to support, we can match you with an eager child starting in January.
For example, a sponsorship from Reception to Year 7, eight years, will be approximately USD 19 200, whereas a single year would cost approximately USD 2 400.
Payments can be made on an annual basis. If you are able to support a child for one year, but not the whole school career, we may be able to match your support with other sponsors to build a multi-donor scholarship for a single child all the way through his or her primary school education.
We currently have 5 thriving pupils at SCA who study through the sponsorship programme. We aim to enrol one new sponsored child each year.
